Idyllic charity day for cancer treatment.
A successful summer lunch took place in the beautiful garden of Kath and Clive Linton at Penmark.
It was attended by more than 150 people and raised £3,500 for ‘Cold Caps’ a local charity set up to buy cold caps , freezers and treatment chairs for use by cancer patients receiving chemotherapy.
This is the second year that this type of event has been held. It was organised by Kath Linton and Carol John and beat the previous year’s fundraising by £1,000.
The sun shone, the food was delicious and the champagne bar was very busy! The guests enjoyed live music by a quartet that was joined by the guest singer Andrew Matthews.
Money was also raised by a golf competition at the far end of the garden, where guests of all ages did their best to show off their skills.
There was also a cake and plant stall and a raffle with numerous prizes.
The day could not have been such a success without all the hard work put in by many willing helpers and those who donated prize cakes etc.
Cherie John thanked everyone who contributed to make the day so successful.
